Team racing

For students with dinghy experience and a keen interest in racing, we sail competitively on a regular basis against other universities across the north and the midlands.

We have two teams. Trials are held at the beginning of each academic year. Our teams have been going from strength to strength recently, having qualified for the BUCS Team Racing Final two years in a row.

Our teams train regularly on the water in our fleet of fireflys. Training takes place on Wednesdays or Saturdays/Sundays, alongside theory sessions throughout the term.

The team racing competitions always promise to be a great weekend away. They have excellent socials on the Friday and Saturday nights in our host city and there is always some top quality sailing on the weekends.
